July 7, 2020

Here is our Facebook Live from Tuesday, July 7, 2020. I apologize for being slow to get this out to those of you who were not able to join us live. It’s been a technically challenging week for me. I’m happy to report that things are finally running smoothly. Lilacs
In our Facebook Live I mentioned two specials:
  • When you book a room and bring along friends and/or family who book a second room (or more) this summer, all of you get our winter rates!
  • This summer only we have reduced our normal three night minimums to two nights!
Because these are specials, they apply to new reservations only.
Here is the link to this week’s Facebook Live. I will not be doing a Live next week at the usual time because of a prior commitment – however I will sneak something in when I can. I will try to do my best to give a little notice.
We are offering picnic lunches and dinners to go or to eat here on the lawn, on the porch, in your room or our dining room. Tables are appropriately socially and physically distanced
This past Monday and Tuesday evenings we cooked for our guests. Monday they selected pesto salmon which came with couscous and asparagus, a garden salad with a skewer of marinated mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes, and basil from our garden. Dessert were mini apple tarts with vanilla gelato. Tuesday was a salad with mandarin oranges and almonds followed by NY strip steaks (cooked to their liking) with mini tri-color oven roasted potatoes and green beans with toasted almonds. Dessert was NY style cheesecake with mountain berry sauce. Yummy!
Many of our loc restaurants are open for outdoor and reduced capacity indoor dining! The town of Lenox has purchased and installed a lot picnic tables throughout the village and hired teens to patrol and clean them between use
The museums are opening this weekend! So far we have heard the Norman Rockwell, Clark Art Institute and MassMoCA will be opening their doors as will Hancock Shaker Village. Tickets will need to be procured in advance for timed admissions. The Mount and Naumkeag are also opening for tours. Remember, masks are required indoors! Music has also returned to the Berkshires! On weekends you can hear different groups playing on Railroad Street in Great Barrington. The street itself has been closed to traffic and the restaurants have set up tables for dining. In Lenox, Wednesday evenings (6:30 – 8 pm) you can find live music in Lilac Park. I’ve posted the schedule on our Facebook page. Barrington Stage, Berkshire Theatre Festival & Shakespeare & Company have all announced offerings from drive-I movies to theatre under a tent to a theatre with socially/physically distanced seating. Check out the options by clicking their links below. Hope to see you soon! Masks donned! Hands washed! Ready for you! With lots of virtual hugs and love,
