Thursday, October 8 marks the end of my 24th year as owner/innkeeper/steward of The Rookwood Inn and the start of my 25th year!!!! This is a milestone I do not take lightly. Few innkeepers can boast this longevity especially with love! I can!! We are planning a full year of celebrations starting next week. Stay tuned . . . it will be exciting!!! In the meantime, please think of your experiences at The Rookwood. I would love to share some of your memories, quotations, and photos throughout the year.
For me the years have been filled with thousands of amazing guests and dozens of wonderful employees. They have been filled with love, laughter, tears, sharing and growth. Each experience has helped me grow into the woman I am today and helped form the women my two daughters have become. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you and thank you! I am excited to see what the future brings us and The Rookwood Inn.
Weekly Facebook Lives
This week’s Live is full of activities for this weekend and beyond including the lots of pumpkins and apples. Naumkeag and Whitney’s Farm have pumpkins galore, Whitney’s even has a physically/socially distanced haunted corn maze. There’s bird watching at the Audubon Sanctuary and tons of outdoor hiking, walking and yoga!
Cider is simmering on the stove and being infused with yummy spices just for you! We’ll fill a carafe and have it waiting outside your room with an afternoon treat. you might want to pick up some cider donuts at one of the orchards – or get some from each and do your own taste test!
Don’t forget to plan ahead for Thanksgiving weekend getaways as well as winter escapes.
Work and play from here
If you’re working from home and/or your children are studying from home consider a temporary move to The Rookwood as your home away from home. High speed wifi, tables, desks, quiet spaces surrounded by nature and being cared for by Rookwood staff. We would love to give you that needed break. Life may be different right now. . . why not set new traditions that exceed your expectations?
Our world’s response to Covid-19 is changing rapidly. Because of this, it is important that if you have plans to travel to Massachusetts you review our state’s guidelines 4 days before leaving. If you are coming from any state which is not on our governor’s “lower risk states” list it is required that you have a negative Covid test done in the 72 hours before arriving in Massachusetts or quarantine once here for 14 days. Fines could be as high a $500 for non-compliance. Click here for MA Guidelines.
We hope to see you soon! Our masks are donned! Hands
washed! Surfaces disinfected! We are ready for you!
